The Bowmar Builders are an FLL team associated with Bowmar Elementary School. The purpose of this blog is to help other students interested in robotics to learn from what we have learned. As an FLL Robotics team we use the Lego EV3 robotics system and the Mindstorms graphical programming language.

FLL Competition Overview

The First Lego League (FLL) is one of four competitive leagues in the FIRST program. FLL is for students in the 4th-8th grades. Each year there is a theme. There are four parts to the competition: the project, the core values, the robot design, and the robot game. Prizes are awarded in each area. Championships are determined based on scores in the project, core values, and robot design areas with a qualification threshold of being in the top 40% (rank-wise) of the team scores in the robot game.
